Rent Catriona Olding’s unique home in Cotignac – special price for subscribers

This small but charming cave house, the home of Spectator Still Life columnist Catriona Olding, has been described as one of the loveliest properties in Provence, with breathtaking views and sunrises from the terrace over the village of Cotignac and of the Massif des Maures. The house is perfect for those who want to get away from it all; however, it is unsuitable for frail individuals due to it being a two-minute steep climb up from the nearest parking and a ten-minute walk from the village centre on a hot day.

Accommodation – one double bedroom, one bathroom and the kitchen, dining and living area are across three levels. The kitchen, dining and living area are on the middle, the mezzanine bedroom above. There are steep steps to the bathroom, which is downstairs, along with a small painting studio.  An extra double bedroom is available on request in the adjoining self-contained apartment (with kitchenette, tiny bathroom and garden terrace).

£850 a week for the main house and an extra £650 to add on the apartment.

Available 4 July until 29 August. Contact catrionaolding@gmail.com for availability and to book.
