Get a signed hardback copy of Martin Vander Weyer’s January Poet for just £10

Better known for his long-running weekly Spectator column about the world of business, Martin Vander Weyer is also an occasional poet – particularly during January of each year when he composes verses for the deadline of an annual Burns Supper.

Written chiefly to be performed to live audiences, Martin’s poems have been inspired by significant personal events and troubling memories, by happenings in his home town of Helmsley, North Yorkshire, by the pleasures of exotic travel, and by sheer mischief. One way or another, a lifetime’s experience and observation is compressed into his slim collection.

Martin is a long-serving trustee of Helmsley Arts Centre (to which all profits from this book will be donated) and a former governor of the Royal Northern College of Music, trustee of Opera North and chairman of the Ryedale Festival. He is also a veteran amateur actor as a founder member of the 1812 Theatre Company.
