The Spectator and Boisdale’s Wines of Lebanon Lunch, Wednesday 22 October, 12.30 for 1p.m. at Boisdale Canary Wharf, £145

Readers are invited to a very special lunch at Boisdale of Canary Wharf featuring the remarkable wines of Ch. Ksara – Lebanon’s oldest winery, founded in 1857 by Jesuit monks. The lunch will be hosted by George Sara, co-owner, Michael Karam, the leading authority on Lebanese wine and the inspiration behind the extraordinary film, Wine & War, Jonathan Ray and Ranald Macdonald.

A typically fine Boisdale lunch will feature six pours from Ch. Ksara’s range, including a white and red Grande Cuvée created exclusively for Boisdale, Ksara’s iconic Blanc de Blancs made with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon and the historic Le Prieuré made with old vine Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Finally, there will be a delicious late-picked Moscatel pudding wine and an sublimely smooth Arak cocktail, the aniseed-based eau de vie that is Lebanon’s national drink

Guest speakers H.E. Rami Mortada, the Lebanese Ambassador to the UK, and Freddy Gray, deputy the editor of The Spectator.

There will also be a Grand Wine Raffle for The Lebanon.

(N.B. Canary Wharf is easily and swiftly reachable from the West End, being just five stops from Bond Street on the Elizabeth Line and seven stops from Green Park on the Jubilee Line.)
