Uncle Vanya is in cinemas this month - win a copy of the book

Following its critically-acclaimed opening in London earlier this year, Sonia Friedman Productions’s stunning five-star production Uncle Vanya, starring Toby Jones as Uncle Vanya, Aimee Lou Wood as Sonya and Richard Armitage as Astrov, is coming to cinemas from 27 October.

This new adaptation of the Anton Chekhov masterpiece by Conor McPherson and directed by Ian Rickson is nominated for four Olivier Awards. Performances of Uncle Vanya were abruptly halted as the world went into lockdown. As most of the world’s theatres remain in darkness, Uncle Vanya’s ensemble cast – which also includes Roger Allam and Rosalind Eleazar – overcame the considerable challenges of working in a global pandemic, and returned to the Harold Pinter Theatre to film the ‘perfect’ (★★★★★ The Guardian) production.

Uncle Vanya will be screening across the UK from 27 October. For more information and to book tickets for your nearest cinema please visit unclevanyacinema.com

To celebrate this must-see cinema event we have teamed up with More2Screen to give you the chance to win one of five copies of the Uncle Vanya book by Anton Chekhov.
